Nine Players from Massachusetts Chosen in the 2022 NHL Draft

The 2022 NHL Entry Draft had the most players from Massachusetts drafted since 2005, when the draft was reduced to just seven rounds. This surpasses the record set in 2020 and 2018 in which eight players from Massachusetts were drafted. Massachusetts matched Minnesota this year, each having nine players drafted.

The 2022 NHL Entry Draft was the 60th NHL Draft, held on June 7th and 8th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. There were 225 players drafted across 32 teams. 

The players from the 2022 NHL Draft from Massachusetts Include Cam Lund, Jack Hughes, Michael Fisher, Ben MacDonald, Ryan Healey, Michael Callow, Jackson Dorrington, Chris Romaine, and James Fisher. 

Cam Lund: Cam Lund, born on June 7, 2004, is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound center from Bridgewater, MA. Cam was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the 2nd round (No. 34 overall). He is committed to play at Northeastern University. 

Jack Hughes: Jack Hughes, born on November 2, 2003, is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound center from Westwood, MA. Jack was selected by the L.A. Kings in the 2nd round (No. 51 overall). Notably, Hughes is the son of the Montreal Canadians General Manager, Kent Hughes. He is committed to play at Northeastern University. 

Michael Fisher: Michael Fisher, born May 2, 2004, is a 6-foot-2, 198-pound defenseman from Westborough, MA. Michael was selected by the San Jose sharks in the 3rd round (No. 76 overall). He is committed to play at Northeastern University. 

Ben MacDonald: Ben MacDonald, born February 24, 2004, is a 6-foot, 181-pound center from Weston, MA. Ben was selected by the Seattle Kraken in the 3rd round (No. 91 overall). He is committed to play at Harvard University. 

Ryan Healey: Ryan Healey, born on May 19, 2004, is a 6-foot-1, 179-pound defenseman from Hull, MA. Ryan was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the 4th round (No. 121 overall). He is committed to play at Harvard University. 

Michael Callow: Michael Callow, born on January 15, 2004, is a 6-foot-4, 194-pound right wing from South Boston, MA. Michael was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the 5th round (No. 154 overall). He is committed to play at Harvard University. 

Jackson Dorrington: Jackson Dorrington, born April 13, 2004, is a 6-foot-2, 192-pound defenseman from North Reading, MA. Jackson was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the 6th round (No. 176 overall). Jackson is committed to play at Northeastern University. 

Chris Romaine: Chris Romaine, born on February 1, 2004, is a 6-foot, 194-pound defenseman from Braintree, MA. Chris was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the 6th round (No. 193 overall). Chris is committed to play at Providence College. Chris Romaine was also named as the 2022 Neutral Zone Prep Player of the Year. 

James Fisher: James Fisher, born April 8, 2004, is a 6-foot-2, 196-pound right wing from Wilmington, MA. James was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 7th round (No. 203 overall). James is committed to play at Northeastern University.
