Madeline Elizabeth “Maddie” Bain, 14, of West Bridgewater passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
Teams are raising money, hoisting jersey number 19 over the benches and taping their sticks blue in honor of Maddie.
She was well known for her enthusiasm, passion and love for hockey. Her efforts brought together almost 30 new teammates, and introduced many girls to the sport for the first time to form the West Bridgewater East Bridgwater Co-op Girls Ice Hockey team.
Maddie was a player over the seasons for the Taunton Brewins and Massachusetts Spitfires.
Born February 27, 2004 in Attleboro, MA, she was the beloved daughter of Scott A. Bain and Elizabeth (Trahan) Bain.
Maddie was in the 9th grade at West Bridgewater High School. She enjoyed playing hockey and being outside. She especially loved spending time and making memories with her loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her siblings; Caleigh Bain, Chance Bain, Riley Bain and Ashley Noonan and her husband Erik; grandparents, Etta Bain, Roy Bain, Sr., Janice Trahan, Cornelia Trahan and the late Richard Trahan; nephew, Noah Noonan.
Memorial gifts may be given to “Maddie Bain Fund” c/o Bridgewater Savings Bank, 120 West Center Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
The community held a vigil Friday, January 18, 2019. Family and friends joined together over this past Tuesday and Wednesday for services.
