Sled Hockey Program begins Dec 7th

The sport of sled hockey enables youth and adults to play hockey sitting down and is played by athletes with spinal cord injuries, spina bifida, lower limb amputations, diplegic cerebral palsy and other lower body impairments. Coaching and equipment are provided to participants in all sled hockey sessions.

All ability levels, ranging from first-timers to experienced players are welcome and will be coached in small groups by expert professionals and volunteers. Practices will include small games and will ensure age-appropriate instruction and play.

Mass Hockey has joined up with Spaulding Rehab Hospital's Adaptive Sports Group to promote and grow sled hockey in Massachusetts. I have attached the marketing flyer with the schedule of clinics being offered this season. We hope that with this initiative we can establish 4-6 additional teams over the next 3 years utilizing 3 new locations in the state.

We currently have 2 teams based out of the Springfield/Westfield MA area.
