Robert P. Joyce, Jr. Appointed Legal Counsel for Massachusetts Hockey and to USA Hockey’s Legal Council.

Massachusetts Hockey is pleased to announce that its past President, Attorney Bob Joyce will now be serving as general counsel to provide legal advice for the organization. In addition to his four years as Massachusetts Hockey President, Bob brings 28 years of legal experience which includes representing clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions, employment law, estate planning & probate, civil litigation and small business matters.

Bob fills the vacant position of general counsel to Massachusetts Hockey left open when former general counsel Maura Sheehan stepped down in January.  “I am pleased that Bob decided to stay on as part of Massachusetts Hockey following his term as President, given the issues faced by Massachusetts Hockey in recent years.  I welcome his experience and am glad he agreed to accept this position and will continue to serve Massachusetts Hockey.”  Said new President Steve Palmacci.

In addition, to serving as General Counsel to Massachusetts Hockey, Bob also serves as a member of USA Hockey’s Congress and was recently appointed as a member of USA Hockey’s Legal Council.  USA Hockey’s Legal Council consists of lawyers and others from around the country to advise and counsel USA Hockey on legal matters.   

Bob is a partner in the Newton based firm of Tamkin & Hochberg, LLP. The firm’s practice is primarily concentrated in the areas of business and corporate law, commercial and residential real estate, business, corporate and real estate transactions, media and entertainment law, corporate and personal tax planning, estate planning and probate administration. Bob is a graduate of Boston College and the University of Dayton School of Law.

Bob is a USA Hockey Level V coach with over 20 years of coaching experience and recently obtained his Level I USA Hockey Officiating certification.

Bob resides in Newton with his wife Tricia, and they are the parents of four children.
