Joe dedicated 27 years of his life to leading the Revere/Everett/Malden Youth Hockey programs. Joe began his leadership within Revere Youth Hockey which then merged to create Everett-Revere Youth Hockey followed by another merger with East Boston, leading to the new name of the East Coast Junior Patriots. Despite Joseph's children growing up and no longer playing hockey, Joe continued to work with the program and was passionate about create a diverse hockey program, making more opportunities for kids to play.

Joe was quoted as saying when asked about his volunteerism in youth hockey “you do it because you like doing it… you don’t do it for the attention, you do it for the right reasons”. Joseph will be greatly missed by the Mass Hockey community.
