Massachusetts Hockey is pleased to announce the schedule for the 2021 CCM High Performance Tryouts and Festivals. There have been some modifications to the traditional format, but we believe that this gives us the best opportunity to allow players the opportunity to earn their way to the USA Hockey National Development Camps later this summer.
While it is our goal to give every player that wants to tryout the opportunity to do so, it is possible that not everyone will get that chance. The tryout sessions are based on past history of registrations and we have always done our best to see as many players as possible. Given the restrictions related to Covid-19, the delay in USA Hockey National Championships and other factors, the process has been condensed for this season.
On the boys side, we have eliminated the “Final 40” event and will be selecting players based on their performance at the Festival (roughly top 60 players from the tryouts). We will continue to use evaluators from professional hockey and NCAA Division I and III programs to evaluate players with the ultimate goal of identifying players for the NDC’s.
On the girls side, all players will go through the open tryout process, with no players being pre-selected (due to limited viewing opportunities). We will continue to use evaluators from professional hockey and NCAA Division I and III programs to evaluate players with the ultimate goal of identifying players for the NDC’s. The evaluators will be selecting players based on their performance at the Festival (roughly top 60 players from the tryouts).
Also, due to the traditionally large number of goalies that tryout for the CCM High Performance Festival and the limited number of players that we can have at each tryout, we will be holding preliminary goaltender evaluations IN ADVANCE of the tryouts. From the evaluations, selected goaltenders will advance to the tryouts and compete for a spot at the Festival.
Tryout registration will open on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 5 p.m.
This link will take you to the registration website & you will click on the registration button listed on the website when it is open: https://www.mahockey.org/highperformance
Tryout openings are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Once all openings are filled, there will be a waitlist.
Make sure to have your 2020-2021 USA Hockey Confirmation Number for the registration. You would have received it already to play on any USA Hockey registered team this season.
For players to be eligible they must have a USA Hockey Confirmation number registered with an address in Massachusetts. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions about residency.
