Welcome Back to Hockey!

After a season end in the spring and a summer, like no other before, and then some is nearly behind us.  Covid-19 has changed so much of what we do and will know going forward.

Playing hockey will be different this season. Coaching hockey will be different.  Watching hockey will be different, but at least we are back to hockey and games.

While it will be different, we’re all still looking forward to hockey in 2020-21.

As parents and volunteers, we can still look forward to watching our youngest players pulling on their equipment more comfortably each time out. As coaches, we can still look forward to making the most of every single interaction with our players, just as we always have as teachers of the game.

Players can still look forward to playing this great game. Rinks are still wonderful places to be. A goal scored is the same thrill. Those goals are coming. Tape-to-tape passes are coming. Great saves are coming. That toe-drag you've only imagined is coming. A perfectly pure one-timer is coming. Winning games with your friends and teammates is coming. Hard work paying off is coming. A lifetime of memories for families is coming.

We remain #MassProud and over 50,000 strong.  We're still one of the largest and most significant districts in the country. Our relationship with the Boston Bruins continues. We still have Massachusetts born players signing National Hockey League contracts. Girls and boys are still shooting pucks in driveways, looking for an edge. We have more resources for all of you than ever. With the help of all our youth hockey organization partners, educating and informing remains at the center of our plans.

We have new initiatives for growing the game. Our commitment to creating positive hockey experiences that will last a lifetime has never been stronger -- for boys and girls in Learn to Skate programs and at all levels right up through our elite male and female players who have legitimate dreams of playing in college, the Olympics or professional hockey.

Mass Hockey will be here doing what we can to help keep the game safe and fun and help players, coaches and parents navigate through the uncertainty.

On behalf of Mass Hockey, I want thank you for your patience with us and the state's guidelines, for your willingness to comply with the guidance and for your continued involvement and participation during these challenging times.

Sincerely,
